Jess A. Davis is a Canadian/American artist. Influenced by Robert Venosa, David Lynch, and Salvador Dali, Jess strives to show the intricate beauty surrounding us by focusing her work on usually unnoticed details, thus distracting the mind from the clamor enough to experience the wonder of her subjects more acutely. Substituting colours in contrasting ways she creates a sort of magic-realism that draws the viewer in. The longer you look the more you feel the emotional resonance that is meant only for the individual viewer. This very personal experience has to be felt, because it cannot be described. Ms. Davis’s works primarily in oil and oil pastels, but her projects can range from digital to sculpture. She currently lives in Kingston, Ontario.
