Zhimin is a multi-discipline storyteller who at the core of her art combines elements from fiction, experiental film and documentary filmaking genres in her artictic creations.
Her films have been presented in many international and Canadian film festivals, including the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner, Fantasia Film Festival, Vancouver Asian Film Festival, Victoria Film Festival, Montreal World Film Festival, and the CBC FaceOff Short Film Competition, amongst others. One of her films, “A Cold Summer Night” was selected by BAnQ (Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec) in partnership with the NFB (National Film Board of Canada) for circulation as part of their permanent film collection.
ZhiMin’s professional experience includes work on countless television commercials, reality TV productions, comedy productions and television documentaries.
Besides directing and editing, Zhi-Min is a professional photographer specializing in studio protrait photography as well as location photography. She has also beeen a film critic for a Chinese language weekly newspaper, a TV host and researcher for the TV show Sino-Montreal on CJNT, and a jury member for the 2012 Amérasia Film Festival.
